Hi, I’m Barbie Klapp and I’m the founder of 2 Paws Up, Inc. Since 2003 we’ve served more than 900 furry, fuzzy, and feathered clients in the Lilburn, Snellville, Grayson, Loganville, Stone Mountain, and Lawrenceville areas of Gwinnett County. We’ve helped nearly 500 pet parents reconnect to their pets and learn that they can travel (and work late) without pet-related guilt! I am happy to announce that I wrote my first book, “Pet Travel Tips”.Here I am writing a book about traveling with your pet, when I am a pet sitter that travels to your home to take care of your pets. I felt that it was important that we know a few facts on how to travel with your furry family. Even if it’s traveling in the states, over seas, or to a local pet store or even a dog park. We need to know what is required, and how to transport our fur family members safely.

In my past life, I’ve been an Assistant Manager at a women’s clothing store, an administrative assistant, and a loan closer. I’ve also done my time waiting tables. Some of the cool things I’ve learned in all those gigs were all about getting along with diverse personalities, solving problems on the go, and making great decisions to ensure a positive outcome for all parties.
I’ve spent a lifetime sharing my home and world with animals, from my first German Shepherd Dog, Hans, to Winston, Gigi, and Misi Beaucoup, and my two cats Charleston, and Buddy Elson that I share my life with now.
I believe that doing this work is what I’m called to do in a massive, “call from the Universe,” sort of way. In my experience, a well-cared for and well-loved pet brings more than just companionship to a person and a household. I’ve seen that the bond can literally change the dynamics of relationships, inspire the community, and lead the way for positive and peaceful change in the world. As Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Some other things you may want to know before handing your keys and pets’ care over to me:
- If I’m outdoors, I’m happy. Your pets are not going to be dragged through a short slog of a walk, no matter what the weather is. We’ll have fun and explore the world together.
- If I’m not caring for your pets, you’ll find me hanging out with my pets at Lenore Park or Stone Mountain Park. (okay, I’m not bringing the cats, but the pups and I will be there). While I’m there you’ll find me pedaling past or hiking a new, or old favorite, trail.
- I enjoy the water and when the wind is right, and the skies are clear, you’ll find me and my hubby sailing the blue waters.

I can’t wait to learn about you and your pets.
