While working toward my Master of Business Administration, I decided I wanted to be an entrepreneur. During this time, I had the opportunity to complete an extensive business plan in the field of pet sitting, dog walking, and dog training. After successfully graduating with my MBA, in August of 2003, I started 2 Paws Up Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, adding Dog Training in 2020.
I have always loved animals! My mother once said, “if we are reincarnated, I want to come back as one of your pets”! 2 Paws Up Inc gave me the opportunity to live my dream of helping pet owners and their pets. Who doesn’t mind playing with dogs all day? Wagging tails and the looks of content on the faces of my four-legged friends, was proof enough this has been the right passion for me. After years of success, I am proud of the growth of this extraordinary business. My job is both challenging and rewarding….After all, this is my purrfect dream job!

In my past life, I’ve been an Assistant Manager at a women’s clothing store, an administrative assistant, and a loan closer. I’ve also done my time waiting tables. Some of the cool things I’ve learned in all those gigs were all about getting along with diverse personalities, solving problems on the go, and making great decisions to ensure a positive outcome for all parties.
I’ve spent a lifetime sharing my home and world with animals, from my first German Shepherd Dog, Hans, to Winston, Gigi, and Misi Beaucoup, and my two cats Charleston, and Buddy Elson that I share my life with now.
I believe that doing this work is what I’m called to do in a massive, “call from the Universe,” sort of way. In my experience, a well-cared for and well-loved pet brings more than just companionship to a person and a household. I’ve seen that the bond can literally change the dynamics of relationships, inspire the community, and lead the way for positive and peaceful change in the world. As Gandhi said, “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
Some other things you may want to know before handing your keys and pets’ care over to me:
- If I’m outdoors, I’m happy. Your pets are not going to be dragged through a short slog of a walk, no matter what the weather is. We’ll have fun and explore the world together.
- If I’m not caring for your pets, you’ll find me hanging out with my pets at Lenore Park or Stone Mountain Park. (okay, I’m not bringing the cats, but the pups and I will be there). While I’m there you’ll find me pedaling past or hiking a new, or old favorite, trail.
- I enjoy the water and when the wind is right, and the skies are clear, you’ll find me and my hubby sailing the blue waters.
Anything else you want to know? Just ask!
I can’t wait to learn about you and your pets.
