Dog Training

A Good Dog Is A Balanced Dog

About Us

At 2 Paws Up Inc, we offer a variety of services to help meet your needs. We work to improve the relationship between you and your dog by teaching you how to effectively communicate with your canine companion.

What training methods do you use?

We use science-based positive training methods. This means that we stick to the 4 pillars of positive training:

  1. The use of positive reinforcement
  2. Avoiding the use of intimidation, physical punishment, or fear
  3. Comprehension of the misunderstood concept of dominance
  4. A commitment to understanding the canine experience from the dog’s point of view

In-Home Puppy Program

  • Puppy socialization, basic obedience, crate training, & housetraining
  • Ideal for puppies ten weeks to 5 months old. Start your puppy off right! Puppy training encourages and reinforces good behavior.
  • Using positive reinforcement, we can teach cues to help with those first months of your puppy’s life.
  • 4 1-Hour Private Training Sessions

In-Home Basic

  • 4+ months of age
  • The Basic Obedience Package is designed to build a dog training foundation by teaching you how to effectively communicate with your dog. This course will include the Name Game, Watch Me, Sit, Down, Stay, Coming When Called, Leave It, Off, Wait, and Polite Leash Walking, amongst other exercises in impulse control and awareness.

In-Home Advanced

  • 4 1-Hour Private Training Sessions
  • 4+ months of age
  • Prerequisite: In-Home Basic Course or equivalent training
  • The Advanced Obedience Package is designed to proof & expand upon the behaviors learned in the Basic Obedience Package as well as focusing on distractions, impulse control, & polite leash walking.

In-Home Behavior Modification

  • In other words, unlike dog obedience training that trains a dog to perform specific actions when requested, behavior modification changes a dog’s reaction to a situation, a person, a thing, and animal, etc. through counterconditioning & desensitization.
  • We can work on Biting & Nipping, Jumping, Separation Anxiety, Fear, and Aggression.

In-Home Private Sessions

  • Individual training sessions can focus on the same behaviors in any of the packages, focus on an individual skill or issue, or work on various issues.
  • Excellent for working on reactivity, attention, & other behaviors in various locations.

Bottom Line

We believe in the power of kindness and compassion. We will never use force or pain to coerce your dog into performing a behavior. At 2 Paws Up Inc, we are committed to dog-friendly and people friendly training methods and understand that dog training is meant to be an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Let the fun begin!
