Dear 2 Paws Up family,
We understand that everyone has questions and concerns about the coronavirus, so we wanted to reach out to you and share what we are doing to keep your households and pets healthy, safe, and comfortable as we continue our services. We are watching updates and following guidelines posted by the U.S. Centers for Disease control and local authorities regarding COVID-19.
Healthy Visits:
All sitters are required to wash their hands for 30 seconds before and after each visit. They will have hand sanitizer and wipes available to keep hands clean and wipe all surfaces and doorknobs that are used before leaving. If you have specific wipes/disinfectants that you would like used, please leave them out on the counter and update your profile so that your sitter knows. We want to help you keep the environments safe for everyone – 2 and 4 legged!
New Schedules:
While your schedule might be changing, it is important to keep in mind that your pet is used to a routine. Even if you are switching to remote work, your pet will still need attention and walks like normal. If your employer is counting on you to work from home, you might be tethered to your computer. Your pet might confuse you working at home as free time. They love you so much and want to spend this extra time with you. We will still be here for you and your pet. Stay working – and let us continue being there for your pets! Please use the portal to schedule extra visits if needed.
Communication:
If you have not already, please update 2 Paws Up with emails and phone numbers. Also, please make sure you have our app downloaded (available in the App Store and on Google Play). We want to make sure that you get information and updates as quickly as possible.
Booking with confidence:
We are a team of pet-sitters and have options and backups to continue care for your pets. We will not cancel last minute and will not send sick sitters into your home. If any employee of 2 Paws Up has concerns about their health, we will make sure their visits are covered by a healthy sitter and let you know about any changes immediately.
What can you do at home?
According to the CDC, there is no evidence that pets spread COVID-19. General hygiene practices are important for keeping your family healthy and safe. We recommend:
- Sanitizing and cleaning surfaces and doorknobs every day
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, water bowls, toys, and grooming tools often, and
- Keeping your air filters changed regularly to maintain clean air
If you do have extra time at home with children and pets, please take advantage of the changing temperatures and enjoy some fresh air outside. You can:
- Visit a local park for a walk/run
- Go hike a nature trail
- Make obstacle courses in the backyard and have some fun family fitness
- Bake homemade dog treats on rainy days
Take a First Aid and CPR Course
Take Pro Pet Hero’s Online Cat and Dog First Aid Certification Course. This could save your pet’s life & reduce vet bills by knowing what to do in an emergency.
As always, we are here for you and your pets. Please reach out if you have any questions. We look forward to continuing our visits!
