We all know the internet was invented for cute cat (and other animal) photos and videos, right?
There are the obvious animal-loving accounts to follow that belong to shelters, animal rescue organizations, and pet product companies…but here are a few accounts you might not know about that you’ll surely want to add to your feeds! (We’re linking to Instagram, but most or all of them are on other platforms too.)
-
The Dodo – This is an account that’s sure to inspire you. Not limited to dogs and cats, there are happy “tails” of sad-to-glad rescues of domestic and wild animals of all kinds and just all-around cute and heartwarming stories. The pictures and stories are largely submitted by people all over the place of their experiences with animals.
-
Penguin the Magpie – Penguin is a bird who was found by a human family as an injured chick. They raised her for two years, and she chose to stay with them many times even though she was free to leave. Eventually, she went back to the wild but still pops in for unexpected visits. She developed an especially close bond with the family’s sons, eagerly awaiting their arrival home from school each day.
-
Esther the Wonder Pig – Esther is a big (600-lb.), beautiful pink pig whose owners thought was a micro pig when they adopted her. They loved her so much that they eventually bought a farm to give her more space and are now animal advocates. She’s living the good life, and it’s fun following her adventures.
-
Hiking with Dogs – This account features people’s outdoor adventures shared with their dogs. It not only gives you doses of cuteness of dogs dressed up in their gear but also inspires you to get outside more with your dogs and have fun.
-
Meow York Kitties – This account follows two snarky New York cats, Neyland and Knox. They have crazy facial expressions, and the captions are sarCATstic and witty. Knox, the white kitty, is famous for his “wall sit” videos where his owners place signs behind him.
While you’re perusing all these fun accounts on Instagram, make sure you’re following us too – you might even see your own pets featured while we’re spending time with them!
